Several Facebook friends died in the past couple months. It’s wearing on me. Wonderful people, artists, disappearing from the world. The little artist community there grieving them, posting sad things, sweet memories and tributes. I don’t want more friends to die, but friends always die.
A couple friends just got married though, at San Francisco City Hall. Really wonderful to see, a good time to see life going on. Love going on. An adorable couple. A little older than me. Also artists. They did a live stream of the ceremony. A happy thing to see their fun and joy.
We all benefit when others live their joy.
I miss San Francisco inexpressibly.
I got married at San Francisco City Hall once, ha. Right in the same spot where they got married too, on the balcony. Very beautiful building.
It wasn’t a real marriage, it was just a green card marriage. I married my Australian friend Steve so he could get his green card. Our two witnesses were my boyfriend at the time Alexei, and my best friend Sterling. Sterling was on his lunch break from work and had to leave immediately after the ceremony.
Steve took Alex and I out to lunch afterward. As soon as the ceremony was over, we walked to the elevator, Steve pushed the button, and said roughly as we entered, “Now let’s go get drunk.”
We all laughed happily and appreciatively. Steve’s way of lightening the mood, because he just married me in front of my boyfriend, he was 15 years older than us, and if we had any intention of getting married he knew this would delay it by at least two years.
We had to kiss each other for show when they said you may now kiss the bride. The ring we used was supplied to us for the occasion by my Avon lady mother. Costume jewelry, essentially.
My mom actually adored Steve, so even if it was pretend she loved having him as a son-in-law for a moment in time. ha
every single thing i’m dealing with, i keep stressing it and then thinking right, but the world is melting and burning, soo… like, how much does ANY of this REALLY matter?? you know?

The future sucks for the most part.
However, I just spent 5 bucks to release a popcorn treat through the live chat for a whole flock of chickens on the other side of the world in a different hemisphere, and I got to watch them enjoy it live.
And how wonderful is that?
